MIND-Save Yourself From Hell
Poland’s Selfmadegod Records is proud to announce the upcoming third full-length release from German crust punk brigade, MIND.
MIND was formed in Berlin back in 1995 by Dzuma (ex-Toxic Bonkers, ex-Homomilitia, and recently the vocalist for Extreme Noise Terror) and Arek (Ebola). Over the years, the band has produced a variety of releases through underground and DIY labels, including the 1997 Inner Weakness 10”, the New Homes For The Rich 5” EP, 2001’s …Your Own Business LP and split 7” releases with Distress and Inward.
After over a decade of silence from MIND, the now multinational Polish/German duo returns, stronger than ever, with the crushing sounds of their third album, Save Yourself From Hell. With eight enraged new furious punk crust tracks in the vein of Doom, Extreme Noise Terror, Disrupt and early Toxic Bonkers, Save Yourself From Hell is a killer, modern take on a classic and influential genre. The album also includes iconic guest appearances by UK crust/grind vocalists Dean Jones of Extreme Noise Terror and Denis Boardman of Doom.
Save Yourself From Hell will see worldwide release through Selfmadegod on April 15th. International preorders can be placed via Selfmadegod’s webshop HERE, and US orders (April 29th) can be placed Selfmadegod’s official stateside mailorder depot, Earsplit Distro, HERE.

Ciekawi mnie ilu z was w ogóle skojarzy Mind? Długo ich nie było, ale w końcu się zebrali w sobie i zdecydowali się uraczyć wszystkich swoim nowym albumem, który w dyskografi zespołu jest opatrzony numerem trzecim. Całość zawiera się w zaledwie 25 minutach, ale to jest absolutnie wystarczająca dawka, aby każdego zmasakrować i pogruchotać kości. Od razu zaznaczę, że metalu nie ma tu praktycznie wcale, co jeszcze mocniej powinno dać do myślenia ludziom zastanawiającym się, czy aby na pewno warto zainteresować się „Save Yourself From Hell”. Ten album nie trafi do każdego. Tu jak ryby w wodzie poczują się ludzie tęskniący za naprawdę bezkompromisowymi czasami hardcore’a i to do nich ten album w pierwszej kolejności jest adresowany. Zdeklarowani metalowcy niekoniecznie tu coś dla siebie znajdą, ale zaręczam, że niejeden zespół uchodzący za brutalny i mocarny mógłby przy Mind zwyczajnie wysiąść. Wściekłej energii jest tu aż w nadmiarze. Cały album wprost nią ocieka, a że udziela się ona momentalnie, to już zupełnie inna sprawa. Zdecydowanie najważniejszym elementem jest tu czysty gitarowy riff. Riff oparty o hardcore’owe schematy, ale jak się okazuje to wciąż działa znakomicie. Inna sprawa, że tu mamy do czynienia ze starymi wyjadaczami, którzy na takiej muzyce zjedli zęby. Mind doskonale wie w czym tkwi sedno tak bezpośredniej i mocno wkurzonej muzyki, co w połączeniu z dość poważnymi tekstami stworzyło wybuchową mieszankę. Mieszankę napędzaną burzą emocji i rozsadzającej głośniki werwy. Do całości obrazu płyty idealnie zostało dobrane brzmienie. Klimat lat 90-tych, jak w mordę strzelił i właśnie w tę część ciała Mind ładuje cios za ciosem. Wszystko to niechybnie prowadzi do nokautu, a zaraz potem do ponownego naciśnięcia przycisku play. Nie mam wątpliwości, że starzy załoganci będę bardzo zadowoleni, a liczę też że kilku młodych pozna ten materiał i będzie musiało brutalnie zrewidować swój pogląd na tego typu dźwięki. Na koniec dodam, że dość specjalnie omninąłem personalia, bo kto ma wiedzieć ten wie, a reszta niech się dowie zaraz po wysłuchaniu całości. Początkowy szok ustąpi momentalnie miejsca podziwowi. Mocna, cholernie wkurzona i autentyczna płyta. Warto się z tym materiałem spróbować. Nawet jeśli mienicie się zagorzałymi zwolennikami czysto metalowych dźwięków.

Mind are a Crust/Hardcore/Metal band from Germany and this is their third album.
This is primitive Crust violence, played with passion and honesty.
The songs rattle and bash their way from the speakers while the singer tries to compete with the local attack dogs to see who is the most rabid.
Songs like Lost carry a real feeling of threat but also, paradoxically, of camaraderie. Best to make sure you’re on the right side, eh?
They have an Old-School sound that could probably have done with a little more beef in some of the departments, but having said that it still fits the music well and hones the authentic feeling of Hardcore being played by lifers.
The feeling in general is Old-School, reminding of Hardcore bands from the 90's such as Merauder and especially fellow German’s Ryker’s, as well as all of the standard Crust reference points. They also cover Napalm Death, which can never be a bad thing.
This is a 25 minute trip to the wrong side of the tracks. Will you survive the journey? With this as your soundtrack you might.

Mind is the powerhouse crust core band from Germany and they are back with this album Save Yourself from Hell. They’re layers upon layers of violent and unpolished music that lashes on the face of the listener with no pity. First song Don’t Do It features Dean Jones of Extreme Noise Terror, and the noise/grindcore sensations a la Napalm Death and Agathocles are guaranteed.
Burn and Destroy, Lost and Living Just to Die are pure crust/punk and if sometimes they’re not the fastest songs around, they are filthy, shameless and ugly punk and crust core to the masses.
I personally love their take on the style that seems a modern Sore Throat, it’s really raspy and noisy!!!
But the song Inferno is the best: it opens up with spoken word from the movie Event Horizon when the guy says something like Liberate Tutemet Ex-Inferis (wrong latin for the name of the album Save Yourself From hell). On the background of the actual song one can hear the vocalist saying Liberate tutemet!!! It’s pure insanity.
Songs like Suffer and Human continue between Napalm Death and Doom approach of the punk/metal (not METAL PUNK!) of this extreme style of music.
However the tune Bread to Breathe is pure crust binge. Punks and Headbangers may unite in a room to destroy it. Well it’s a kind of mid-tempo (for a extreme act like Mind) song that is suit for destruction.
Last song Burn and Destroy features Denis Boardman of Doom. A really brutal piece of massacre!
All in all Save Yourself from Hell is a noisome and unrelenting release indicated only for die hards of punk/metal/grind/mince and crust core.
